A Message to Our CALC Community

March 14, 2020

CALC recognizes the need to implement procedures that will reduce the risk of exposure and potential spread of COVID-19. CALC will be open on Monday and will be updating students. We are not closing our campus at this time.

The Illinois Governor’s School closing statement is for K-12 grades. Some larger colleges and universities are extending the spring break period by a week to help put in place an action plan.

CALC is a small post-secondary institution and has the ability to immediately put in place preventive measures to protect our students and staff. CALC is currently making preparations to move courses to online learning should closing campus be necessary.

The institution has an academic makeup policy that gives students the opportunity to make up missed class time so the student can complete their program studies.

Effective immediately:

Both campuses will not allow visitors to enter our facilities. All admission inquiries will be managed through our online communications.

The institution will be conducting daily screening of all students and staff prior to entering the classroom. If a student or staff member have the following symptoms, they need to stay home and will not be allowed to enter the classroom.

Anyone having a cough, elevated temp, and/or flu like symptoms, been in contact with anyone who tested positive for COVID-19 or has been asked to self-quarantine needs to stay home. A temp of 100.2 or higher is cause for concern.

The institution has been practicing extra facility sanitation in recent weeks and this will continue on a daily basis for the foreseeable future.

As of this posting the institution has no one diagnosed with COVID-19. If a staff member or student does test positive for the COVID-19, the institution will be closed immediately for a 14-day quarantine period.
